Aquaponic
Aqualitas utilizes an innovative aquaponic cultivation method that combines plant growth with fish farming. This GACP-certified closed-loop system draws water from a fish tank housing over 2,000 Koi fish.
The water contains nitrifying bacteria from the fish waste, which convert ammonia into nitrate, a crucial plant nutrient used in the cultivation of cannabis plants.
This process allows the manufacturer to completely avoid artificial fertilizers and pesticides. Additionally, compared to conventional cultivation methods, it uses up to 90% less water and up to 75% less energy.
A recent study at Aqualitas showed in their consecutive 88 cannabis harvests done so far as a business, the aggregate microbial, yeast and mould counts of all 88 batches would still be well below the allowable limits in Europe for one batch!
